Well, I have to say it was a fun weekend. It was hot, hot, HOT in the city and a record number of people (and dogs) were in attendance for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival this year: 900,000. Yowza! I think I’m still decompressing from the heat and crowds. Anyway, I took a few hours on Saturday to duck out of the sun and check out a new craft fair at Fort Mason called Re:Make.
Jen Kindell was there with her awesome veggie screen prints as well as a bunch of new (to me) vendors selling their wares. Here are a few that caught my eye: Petel Designs (hand-woven african textiles—with a very cool logo); Sugar Knife (creating homemade s’mores, and other sweets, spiked with whiskey); very cute greeting cards and prints by little low; beautiful pendant lamps, and other homegoods, by Fabripod; The Woody Beckers, selling magnetic hanging wall planters and wooden gift tags; and Scout & Whistle (lodge-y kilim pillows, candles and sachets, as well as vintage blankets).
